WHAT IS PELVIC HEALTH PHYSIOTHERAPY?

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy is aimed at treating dysfunction of the muscles inside the pelvis (aka the “pelvic floor muscles”). These muscles support the weight of the pelvic organs, and dysfunction can lead to problems like bowel/bladder leakage, constipation, pelvic organ prolapse, and pain in the pelvis and genitals. Pelvic Health Physiotherapists have undergone additional post-graduate training to become qualified to perform internal exams (vaginally and/or ano-rectally) which allows them to treat these very common conditions.
